1. When did you last feel down and out?
Hearing that RBG had died and only two hours later that #45 would
be announcing his nomination for justice. It makes me feel that unless we
vote him out, her death marks the death of democracy in this country.
I have been to 24 countries and about 40 states and I am actually
happy right where I am. I'm too old to settle somewhere else, even if #45
I am very fortunate that I have probably done almost everything
on my bucket list. I will never get to Africa and probably never cruise up
the inland passage to Alaska, but I'm OK with that now.
I am enjoying having Ned and Marta living here and appreciate all
the help they give.
Someone who can go to sleep and sleep through the night.
I think I told this story in Saturday 9 a few weeks ago, but it was going to a fancy party, dressed in gold lam culottes that were just slightly too long for me. Had too much champagne and coming home we got out of the car. Our very prim and proper British gentleman co-op babysitter was standing on the stairs waiting for us. I stepped on the culottes, fell up the stairs and peed all over myself. Probably one of my most embarrassing moments.
8. What have you always wanted to do but haven't?
Go on a photo safari to Africa. Taken a cruise up the
inland passage to Alaska.
It won't happen in my lifetime so I don't think about it.
Though if we could colonize Mars, it would be somewhere to go to get away from
the Trump empire. But I saw The Martian and don't think I'd be
My two kids.
If you are a fan of the Great British Bake Off and enjoy Paul Hollywood...and if you love San Francisco as much as I do (or are curious about it), I highly recommend watching this one-hour video where Paul tours all of San Francisco, but especially bakeries. It's one of the most fun travelogues I have seen in a very long time, though he makes two mistakes. First, he says the city was destroyed by the 1906 earthquake, but forgets that it was the fire that resulted from the earthquake that actually did most of the damage. He also goes to Fisherman's wharf and has clam chowder...I don't remember ever seeing clam chowder at Fisherman's wharf...he doesn't even mention crab.
But otherwise it's a great show and
if you have insomnia, a good thing to take up the time rather than lying awake
wondering why you can't sleep.
