STUFF AND NONSENSE

We're getting close to the birth of squirrels, I think. 

Gracie has been so active.  The camera in the squirrel house records when there is any movement and there are dozens of recording.  She seems to be spending a lot of time licking or scratching herself.  Either she has a major flea infestation, or she is feeling the babies move and doesn't know what it is. 

She has been sleeping on the side of the house that the camera records and in the middle of the night you can zoom in and see her breathing.

I check her when I wake up in the middle of the night, wondering if she will have given birth, but so far no.

I am sleeping so much better these days.  There is something about the weighted blanket that make me sleep deeper, even if I wake up in the night, which I always do, once or twice.  But I"m almost always able to get right back to sleep after I've checked on Gracie.  And I often sleep until 9 or after.  Even if I only sleep a couple of hours before having to visit the bathroom, I feel like I have had a very deep sleep...and I often dream, which I had not done in many years.

I am finishing up my latest Swap Bot swap, which is a winter diary.  You have to write at least 15 entries a month from December to the end of March.  I'm finding that I don't really like the journal swaps and won't do another one.  I have to handwrite them and they are very boring.  I much prefer the "magpie journals," which are all collages.  I'm not particularly artistic, but I do enjoy putting stuff in a journal.

But I received the journal from my partner yesterday.  She and her husband are retired and her journal was pretty amazing.  It seems they go out to meals every night and many lunches. I thought they might live in a facility where they would have meals in a restaurant, but it seems to be a different restaurant each day.

Not only that but it seems they go dancing every night.  It's always to a different live orchestra.  My goodness, the last time I went dancing was in high school!  I didn't realize there were dance halls where you dance to live music every night, other than at a bar where groups like Lawsuit played concerts.
