JERI'S HERE!

We got a text from Jeri that she was on her way to the airport.  We learned that Houston, where she was to change planes, was having a rain storm and we didn't know if she would make it -- or if planes were taking off from Houston.

Ned got the hide-a-bed in the living room all ready for her, hoping she'd be here at the scheduled time.

Walt checked her plane's schedule and learned that they were not flying to Houston, but to Dallas.  And when she arrived in Dallas, she texted that they would be flying next to Houston and she hoped she would make her Sacramento flight.

She told us later that two girls who were behind her on the plane were going on Honduras and missed their plane and didn't know what they were going to do.

As they were arriving in Houston, she said that she would be getting on the Sacramento flight.  Turns out it was two on courses over and she had to run, but she did get on the plane and said she was shutting her phone down to save battery, so we had no word from her if the plane was actually taking off. 

But Walt checked the internet and learned that yes, the plane did take off and would be arriving, as scheduled at 12:30.  So relieved that with all the cancellations and delays, she was still going to be able to get here on time.

We had a nice brief visit when she got here and she got to meet Bubba.

I knew  that Bubba would end up sleeping with her, since she was going to be in a bed, which would be much more comfortable than curled up on my chest.  (More comfortable for me too!)

And he did.  He didn't even wake up when I got up at 3 to go to the bathroom.  I didn't see him until he leaped on my chest at 7.

So she's here.  She will be here all day today, working on the Saturday show with Ned, and having a late lunch with me.  Then she goes to the Bay Area for the show tomorrow and flies out of San Francisco on Sunday.

The nice thing about having her here now is that I an hear her and we can have a conversation without her having to repeat everything she says to me.
