Hi! Welcome to Sunday Stealing. This feature originated and published on WTIT: The Blog. Here we will steal all types of questions from every corner of the blogosphere. Our promise to you is that we will work hard to find the most interesting and intelligent questions. (Past hosts include: Our first - Judd Corizan, Mr. L,  Kwizgiver and Bud) Cheers to all of us thieves!

Stolen from JournalBuddies

1. Who is your favorite singer? What do you like about him or her?
Anybody who has read this journal for awhile will know the answer to this -- Judy Garland.  I was taken with her when I saw A Star Is Born in 1954 and still love her voice today.  I love that she is a "belter," but I also love her softer tones.  Watching any You Tube video of her should let you know why I love her voice...and, surprisingly, "Over the Rainbow" is not my favorite song.

2. Write about your first memory of going to the doctor.
I really don't remember going to any doctor appointments until I hit puberty, then I went to a doctor appointment with my mother, who was embarrassed by something during the exam and gave me a hard time about it afterwards  It's the only "non-adult" appointment I can remember.

[update: I forgot about having my tonsils out at age 4]

3. Write a poem about writing poems.
I hate writing poems
I never know what to say..
I am not a poet

4. Write a poem about vacations.
There was a hot spring called Boyes
Pleasant, without any noise
My mom found some bees
Who stung both her knees
Something that no one enjoys

5. What is something interesting that no one knows about you?
One of my relatives (Ben Kirkpatrick) was a member of the Butch Cassidy/Sundance Kid gang.

6. Why is it so important to help other people in need?
I don't even understand why one even has to ask this question.  We are comfortable, we have food, water, a place to stay, etc.  So many others have none of that.  If we can afford to help them, we definitely should.

7. Would you rather finish a project early or do it at the last minute? Why?
I don't know if I can answer "why" but I have always done better at the last minute.  If you want something done by a certain date, give me a day or two to get it done, don't give me a month, figuring I will have better luck with all that time. I will put it off and start it the day it is due!

8. If you had three months left to live, what would you do?
Probably pretty much what I do now, with the exception of seeing people I care about more often.

9. If you could be a flavor of ice cream, what flavor would you be? Why?
Vanilla, because everyone loves vanilla.

10. What is the hardest thing about being a kid?
Being bullied.

11. Would you rather be tall or short? Why?
I am about 1-1/2" shorter than I have been most of my life and I miss those 1-1/2".  I've always said I was 5'7-3/4", but now I'm 5'6".  I'm a shrinking old lady.

12. What is the greatest challenge facing people in our world today?
Well, today it would be COVID.   There are lots of other things, like climate change, homelessness, etc, but the thing we can do the most ourselves is to take the precautions from keeping COVID from spreading.

13.What is the scariest experience you’ve ever had?
Being inside a gothic church in San Francisco when an earthquake hit.  The priest tried to reassure us that we "couldn't be in a better place" but looking around at the tall ceilings and the pillars and the stained glass windows, my thought was that we couldn't really be in a worse place.  (Fortunately there was no damage to the building.)

14. Write a poem about music.
I'm going to write a song
And play it all night long
The tune will be sweet
The lyrics complete
I'll play it in Hong Kong

15. Write about a favorite memory of something you did with your best friend.
The most interesting favorite memory is, of course, our pumpkin pie story.

Our cabin at Boyes Hot Springs
