JUDY AND JERI

7 May 2021

It was a busy day Tuesday.  It started with a webinar at 9 a.m.  Jeri saw a notice about a woman in Boston who was going to be talking about Judy Garland and she thought I would like to hear it.  It was Zoom webinar and I don't have a clue how many people were there, because we only saw the three people who were putting it together.  Apparently this is something  they do regularly, in a theater, and have now been doing it on line with the pandemic.

It was an hour long discussion of her life and it was OK, but I had the feeling I knew more than the hostess knew.  She got some bits wrong and omitted some significant things that I felt she should have included.  She was also a big Shirley Temple fan and compared her with Judy Garland a lot.  But the film clips were fun.

The webinar was over in time for me to have "lunch" with my friend Kathleen (our COVID monthly lunchtime telephone call) and to get a nap in before Jeri arrived from Boston.  Walt and Ned picked her up.  It's been more than a year since we last saw her.  It was nice having a visit, but she had been up since 3 a.m. her time and needed a nap, so she went off to sleep.

It was Cinco de Mayo and they cooked a lime steak taco on The Today Show  that looked very good, and quite unlike the tacos we have here all the time, so I sent Ned off to the store to get flank steak and limes.

The steaks were delicious, cut into thin slices to put in tortillas with taco stuff.  It was a nice dinner, especially since Jeri was here!

Since I had no sleep the night before, I was asleep at 8:30 and even with waking up twice through the night, I managed a decent night of sleep.
