8 June 2021

Ned and I went to check on my mother today.  She was more responsive and happy than she has been in a long time.  She didn't seem to be in any pain and she seemed to know us.  She even called me her daughter and told Ned I was a "good girl," which is from her childhood and what her mother always called her and has been a family joke for many years..

She actually answered a couple of questions and she responded to Ned so well.  He sang to her and even told her they were "dancing."

He got her to drink a protein drink and then fed her rice cereal and water.  I massaged hand lotion into her hand, and he took a selfie with her.

It was probably the most enjoyable visit I've had with her in a very long time.  I need to always take Ned or Jeri with her when I go and visit!

After we got back to Davis, Ned and I went shopping and spent lots of money on lots of food and things we were out of.  I found a nice seat and Ned did the check out while I watched.

Now we have lots of choices for dinners in the coming weeks, which is always nice.
