Welcome to Sunday Stealing. This feature originated and published on WTIT: The Blog. Here we will steal all types of questions from every corner of the blogosphere. Our promise to you is that we will work hard to find the most interesting and intelligent questions. (Past hosts include: Our first - Judd Corizan, Mr. L, Kwizgiver and Bud) Cheers to all of us thieves!

I may have posted this last year.
It's a questionnaire I answer every year.
Some of the answers are quite different this year!

First things first, did you have a good year?
Well, I didn't get sick, but I have hardly left the house, so I'd consider it a 50/50 deal.

What was your favorite article of clothing this year?
PJ bottoms and a t-shirt.

What song sums up this year for you?

What was your favorite movie of the year?
I haven't seen a movie in the theater this year but have watched a lot on TV.  I don't know that I have a favorite...I seem to prefer the series like The Queen's Gambit.

Did an actor/actress catch your attention for the first time this year?
Anya Taylor Joy played Beth Harmon in Queen's Gambit and was excellent.

Favorite new TV show?
I don't know that I got into any new shows this year, but I am looking forward to Mr. Mayor which starts this week and hope it's good.  I like Ted Danson.

Did you make any big permanent changes this year?
I acquired a bunch of pen pals.

What was one nice thing you did for yourself?
I just ordered some cool new stationery from The Image Shop.

Did you develop a new obsession?
I guess writing letters to the new pen pals.  I am in the process of making some nice new friendships.

Did you move?

Did you get a pet?
Ned and Marta got a cat, but she didn't last and they found another home for her.

Do you regret not doing anything?
I regret not seeing my mother since March.

Do you regret doing something?
Nothing that I can think of.

Did anyone/thing make you so mad it stayed with you for days?
Donald Trump has pretty much made me that angry all year.

Did you lose anyone close to you?
My friend Ellen (of Ellen and Shelly) died in March, as did Nancianne Pfister, of the Davis Comic Opera Company.  (Both of them missed the pandemic....lucky them!)

Who was important to you this year but wasnít important last year?
Probably the person most important to me this year is Ned, but he's been important to me for all of his life.  Since I haven't really been in a situation where I meet new people this year, I don't have new important people in my life.

Who wasnít as important to you this year as they were last year?
Can't think of anybody.

What was the best moment of the year for you?
Our family Zoom at Christmas.

What was the worst?
Being unable to see my mother on her 101st birthday.  I hope she makes it to 102 (in September) this year so I can be with her, hoping that the pandemic restrictions will have lifted by then.

What have you learned about yourself this year that you didnít know in the years prior?
Probably that I could live as a hermit if necessary.  I have been out a few times, but really don't mind staying home...and feel safer for being here.  As long as I have someone to run errands for me, I don't mind being in the house.

What do you wish for others for the coming year?
I wish for everyone (me included) the ability to hug everyone again.  I'd also like to see faces, not just eyes again.  And to quote Lola from Lola's Diner"I wish for a peaceful transition later this month, and I wish for better handling of the pandemic after the transition."

What do you wish for yourself?
To have the freedom to see my mother again.
