BRASIL !!

A year ago, on New Year's Eve, the doorbell rang and when we answered it, there was Marcio Vassimon, one of our Brasilians from 30 years ago, standing with his wife.  What an incredible surprise.  They were here for just a visit, but we talked them into dinner and to spend the night.

It was amazing to see him after all those years and we renewed our "family-ship." 

Yesterday, I received a note from him saying he wanted to call us to wish us a Happy New Year, but he realized he didn't have my phone number.  Now that I'm all into Zooms, I suggested we do a Zoom, which he agreed to, and so this morning we got together with Marcio and his wife Patricia on a lovely Zoom chat.

We had such a good time that we hope to do it again in the future, with Jeri, Ned and Tom joining us.  When Marcio lived with us, he and Tom had a very special relationship.
 

We had spareribs for dinner.  Marta doesn't like pork or lamb, so I only cook those when she isn't going to be home, so that was our special New Year's Eve dinner. 

And then deciding which TV coverage of the New York New Year's Eve celebration was easy;

Watching gay men on TV these days is definitely different than it was 30 years ago!

I will probably be asleep before midnight, California time.
