Welcome to Saturday 9. What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so-to-speak. We encourage you to visit other participants posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love memes, however, and here is today's meme!

 Saturday 9: I Don't Care (2019)

Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.

1) This song begins with Ed Sheeran admitting he's not enjoying the party he's at. What's something you have to do this weekend, but don't want to do?

Well, given that we are all still on lock-in I guess what I have to do this weekend is stay in the house!

2) Justin Bieber sings about trying to have a conversation at a party. Have you seen any of your social gatherings cancelled because of the Covid-19 pandemic?

All of my social gatherings have been cancelled because of the pandemic.  I have not seen a stage show in weeks because all of the theaters have cancelled their seasons.  Also, lunch with my former co-workers at Women's Health has been cancelled.

3) Both Ed and Justin conclude that this party -- and everything else -- is okay because they're with the ones they love. Who in your life always makes you feel comfortable and content?

Pretty much anybody in my family.

4) Ed and Justin have both appeared on The Simpsons. Are you a Simpsons fan?

I used to be.  I still enjoy the show if I happen to see it but I stopped following it regularly years ago.

5) Speaking of animation, Ed Sheeran has said that he'd love to do a Disney soundtrack, like Elton John's Lion King. Do you have a favorite Disney movie?

My favorite Disney movies have always been Bambi and Dumbo.  Of the newer ones, I love The Lion King.

6) Justin Bieber is fluent in French, and Ed says he knows enough to get by. Say something to us in French.

Que veux-tu que je dise?

(I was a French major)

7) Justin can solve a Rubik's Cube in less than two minutes. Are you good at puzzles?

I'm great at jigsaw puzzles, but terrible at other puzzles.  I couldn't solve a Rubik's Cube in two days.

8) In 2019, the year this song was popular, 20 new governors took office. Tell us something about the governor of your state (or commonwealth)?

We are so fortunate to have Gavin Newsom as governor.  He understood the contagion of the Corona virus early on and we were the first "stay in place" state, so we don't have as high a number of victims as we might otherwise have had.  Also, when he was mayor of San Francisco, he allowed same sex marriage and he married my friends Ellen and Shelly.

9) Random question: Did you more recently give a compliment, or receive one?

I hope I gave one.  Can't think of anything specific, though I did write a note to my sponsored child in Ghana letting her know what a nice photo I had received of her.
