17 March 2019

Welcome to Sunday Stealing. This feature originated and published on WTIT: The Blog. Here we will steal all types of questions from every corner of the blogosphere. Our promise to you is that we will work hard to find the most interesting and intelligent questions. (Past hosts include: Our first - Judd Corizan, Mr. L, Kwizgiver and Bud) Cheers to all of us thieves!

I just learned that March 6 was was National Oreo Cookie day, so in honor, here are some cookie questions

1. Do you eat Oreos?
Not often, but I do.  I actually preferred Hydrox cookies, which tasted so much better, IMO, but they aren't sold any more.

2. If you eat Oreos, which are your favorite original, double stuff, golden original, golden double stuff, Oreo brownies, Oreo ice cream?
Just the original.

3. Do you twist your Oreos apart?
Of course!  Aren't you supposed to?

4. Are you able to pass by a plate of cookies and not take one or are you a bit of a 'Cookie Monster'?
Cookie Monster would have to fight me if we passed by a plate at the same time.

5. Tell us about your favorite cookie. Crunchy, soft, chewy, crumbly, other?
I think my favorites are Snickerdoodles.  But I also love shortbread and Mexican wedding cakes.  I just like most cookies.

6. Have your tastes changed since you were a kid?
I think I like store-bought cookies less than I did then, which is my salvation, since I rarely make cookies and almost never buy them.

7. Enquiring minds want to know if you are a dunker and, if so, do you dunk in milk, coffee, or tea?
The only cookie-like thing I dunk is graham crackers and I like to dunk those in hot coffee.  Otherwise, no, I'm not a dunker.

8. It is that time of year and they are selling them on every corner and in front of every store! Do you buy Girl Scout cookies and if you do, which is your favorite?
If I see a Girl Scout, I will buy cookies, even though they are ridiculously overpriced.  Walt's favorites are the mints.  I like the ones with peanut butter.  Or the plain shortbread.

9. Raw cookie dough. Yay or Nay?
Oh definitely yay.  I've been eating cookie dough since I was a kid and it hasn't killed me yet.

10. Do you like cookies with filling?
Not really.  I only eat the filling of Oreos because that is the only way to get to the cookie itself.

11. Do you prefer organic cookies?
Six of one, half a dozen of the other.  I generally don't buy organic cookies because they are more expensive...and I can make them myself.

12. Large cookies, or small cookies?
Probably smaller.

13. Do you like familiar flavours in cookies?
Yes.  I'm a traditionalist.  Butter.  Sugar.  Vanilla.  Nuts.  None of that lavender-stuff for me.

14. Do you make your own cookies, or buy them?
As I said above, I prefer to make them.  They taste better (and you can eat them warm!)

15. Please tell us something random about your week!!
I have not gone to see my mother this week, and have a clear conscience because I don't feel guilty.  She is settling into the board and care home where we put her and the guy who runs it felt we should give her a week or so to feel comfortable before coming to see her.  It was a good week!  We will go to see her on Monday, after Jeri arrives.
