Welcome to Sunday Stealing. This feature originated and
published on WTIT: The Blog. Here we will steal all types of questions from
every corner of the blogosphere. Our promise to you is that we will work
hard to find the most interesting and intelligent questions. (Past hosts
include: Our first - Judd Corizan, Mr. L, Kwizgiver and Bud) Cheers to all
of us thieves!
1. Are you a happy person?
More or less, I guess.
2. What is happiness for you?
Family that gets along well, our houses, no outstanding debts
3. What do you think is the color of happiness?
4. Can money buy happiness?
I suppose it can, because you can buy things that make you feel
temporarily happy, but no, money doesn't really buy happiness.
Happiness has to be within you to begin with.
5. Is happiness a state of mind?
Definitely. I've known some miserable people who have no reason to
be miserable, and some very happy people who have every reason in the world
to be miserable but remain happy.
6. What are three things that make you happy?
* Spending time with our kids
* Being taken out for lunch or dinner
* A nice nap
7. Does having a pet make you happy?
Depends on the pet. I've had pets I hated and pets I loved
desperately. Polly, our dog of about 12 years, falls in the middle.
she sometimes makes me happy, but usually she just is.
8. When was the happiest time of your childhood?
Junior year in high school
9. Can you be happy if you are rich?
I don't see why not, if we accept that happiness is a state of mind.
I suspect Paul Newman was happy, and was also rich, but found a way to make
a huge difference in the life of poor people.
10. Do you think happiness lies within you or does it depend on other people
and external things?
Real happiness lies within you, but sometimes other people and external
11. Are single people happy?
Sure. Why not?
12, What is the effect that animals/pets have on people to make them feel
Animals love us unconditionally (well, except for Polly) and the
special ones have the ability to know when we need love. Besides, how
can you not feel happy looking at that face!
13. Can you be happy if you are poor?
Sure. You can be uncomfortable and stressed, but again, if
happiness is a state of mind, with all that you can still be happy. I
have known happy poor people and unhappy rich people.
14. What is there to be happy about in today’s world?
15. How happy are you compared with your friends.
This week I suspect we are all pretty sad. I met the same group of
friends at THREE different memorial services this week.
