Welcome to Sunday Stealing. This feature originated and
published on WTIT: The Blog. Here we will steal all types of questions from
every corner of the blogosphere. Our promise to you is that we will work
hard to find the most interesting and intelligent questions. (Past hosts
include: Our first - Judd Corizan, Mr. L, Kwizgiver and Bud) Cheers to all
of us thieves!

From
Sad, Sleepy Survey Rambles
Have you ever been teased because of the
things you like?
Oh sure. For being a Judy Garland fan, and for liking Affair to
Remember, for example.
Do you hold grudges?
Sometimes. I managed to get back at someone gloriously when I wrote a book
in which I wrote negative, true things about him, which I would have ignored
were he still a friend. Never piss off a writer.
Were there any classes you enjoyed because of the teacher?
I probably became as good a typist as I am/was because of Sister Anne, who
became a good friend and remained a friend until her death. Our
daughter's middle name is Anne.
Was there a dress code at your school?
I went to Catholic school. Uniforms for 12 years.
Have you ever been a bad friend?
I'm ashamed to say that I probably have been.
Has a friend ever replaced you with somebody else?
Yes. It's very painful.
Have you ever disliked something just because it was popular?
Because it was popular, no, but I have often disliked many
popular htings.
Have you ever watched a movie just because it starred an actor you liked?
Of course. I have watched every Judy Garland movie, every Cary Grant
movie, every James Mason movie and probably a few others. I am very
faithful to actors I like.
Are there actors/musicians you have met?
Judy Garland, Carol Channing, and lots of musicians, including that
Schalchlin guy in New York.
Do you ever judge people based on the music they listen to?
Not really. Everyone's tastes are different, but I don't have to
listen with them, do I?
What about your top five music albums?
Oh lord...it's been so long since I have listened to any music for any
length of time. But off the top of my head, the soundtrack to Les
Mis and many other musicals, several of Judy Garland's albums, starting
with her Carnegie Hall concert; several John denver albums and our
family favorite, Stan Freberg's "The History of the United States of
America, volume 1."
Do you remember the first album you ever owned?
It was an 8" vinyl copy of the sountrack for the movie Calamity Jane.
Do you still use an mp3 player, or just your phone?
I have no music on my phone.
Do you like Elton John?
Surprisingly, yes. But maybe his more recent stuff.
Have any celebrity deaths hit you hard? Which one(s)?
Obviously Judy Garland. Our Kermit the Frog still wears the black
armband I put on after the death of Jim Henson. I was devastated to
learn that Robin Williams had killed himself.
