December 2, 2019

One of my favorite Christmas traditions was Christmas eve, when we lined the kids up and took what we called the "train picture."  I've managed to find several of them to use here over the month.  It's fun to look at them, one after the other, especially when the kids got older and we talked our foreign students into joining the train.

It's hard to believe that it is December already.  I don't have a clue where the year has gone.

In the past several years, we have put off and put off putting up a tree until right before Christmas, but with Ned and Marta here, things are different.  We are going to buy a "real" tree for the first time in many years, but for now we decided to put up the little artificial tree that we bought last year.  It's in the family room and the "real" tree will be in the living room.

We had the traditional egg nog while decorating, but not the Bing Crosby Christmas album.  However, we did the next best thing which was to decorate while watching White Christmas.

We stuck mostly little ornaments on this small tree and saved the larger ornaments for the big tree.

Apparently while we were trimming a tree here in Davis, they were also trimming a tree in Santa Barbara.

So we are all in the mood now, and ready for a Christmas adventure to begin, something that has not happened around here in a very long time.  Heck, I might even bake Christmas cookies this week.

NOTE:  I've been going through old photos and am going to be posting photos from Christmases past through the month of December.
