Welcome to Sunday Stealing. This feature originated and published on WTIT: The Blog. Here we will steal all types of questions from every corner of the blogosphere. Our promise to you is that we will work hard to find the most interesting and intelligent questions. (Past hosts include: Our first - Judd Corizan, Mr. L, Kwizgiver and Bud) Cheers to all of us thieves.

Questions taken from Friday Five (2010)

1. Have you ever had a great conversation with a complete stranger?
On sure.  I can't remember one off hand, but there were lots of complete strangers that came through the boook store when I was working there, who settled in just to chat, and whom I never saw again.

2. Where did you go on the very first vacation of your life?
The very first vacation I remember was to Boyes Hot Springs, a resort in Sonoma, CA.  We went there for several years and then to a different resort a few years later.  It is a big regret that we never had official "vacations" with our kids, but taking  5 kids to a summer resort was just not financially possible.

3. Open the door of your refrigerator. What is the first thing you see?
A jar of Grey Pupon and the big bowl I filled with apples from our tree yesterday.

4. What is your favorite place in your home.
A toss up  between here in my office or my recliner in front of the TV

5. If you had wings to fly about the universe, where is the first place you’d land?
How far can a bird go in one shot?  My first thing would be to pick a nice clear day and fly over San Francisco, my very favorite thing to see on a clear day.

6. What is the first thing you do when you get in your car?
put on my seatbelt before turning on the motor.

7. What is special about the town you live in?
Davis has made "news of the weird" several times.  For example there was an article about the time a woman was given a citation for breaking the town noise snoring in her own bed.

Also, in 1995 the city spent $14,000 to construct toad access tunnels (there are several) funneling northbound and southbound toads to and from the wetlands under a newly constructed overpass.

There was a big celebration when the toad tunnel opened, with refreshments and music.

The postmaster's father decided to construct a little town for the toads to visit before crossing under the overpass.  To date, however, there have been no recorded signs of toads anywhere near the tunnel or the little toad town.

8. What is the last thing you heard about your first love?
That he had been charged inappropriate sexual conduct with one of his students.

9. If you had created the world in seven days yourself, what would you have created on the First Day? give me the strength and stamina to create stuff on all the rest of the days.

10. How do you beat the summer heat?
We have air conditioning and lots of fans...and I don't leave the house much.

11. Did you enjoy your Senior Year in high school?
I loved my senior year in high school.  It was perhaps my favorite year.  I had a close circle of friends, we were all involved in the senior class play and I was yearbook editor.

12. Who is your favorite First Lady of all time?
Michelle Obama.  Other than that, probably Rosalynn Carter. I'd say Jackie Kennedy, but she was way out of my league and not possible for me to relate to.

ADDENDUM:  How could I have forgotten Eleanor Roosevelt?  I have read a few books about her and find her endlessly interesting.

13. Post a link to your first blog post.

14. When was the last time you needed First Aid?
Years ago when I slipped and fell on an icy road and had to be taken to the hospital to get stitches in my head.  Fortunately, the guy who took me was a doctor who was living with us at the time.

15. Can you explain what a first down is in football?
You can't be the mother of our son Tom and not know what a first down is.  I have video somewhere of our granddaughter, about 18 mos old at the time, doing all the referee hand calls for all of the plays in football...some I'd never heard of!
