9 September 2018

Welcome to Sunday Stealing. This feature originated and published on WTIT: The Blog. Here we will steal all types of questions from every corner of the blogosphere. Our promise to you is that we will work hard to find the most interesting and intelligent questions. (Past hosts include: Our first - Judd Corizan, Mr. L, Kwizgiver and Bud) Cheers to all of us thieves!

Here are more food questions from Facebook

1. Ever had ramen noodles? How do you fix yours? Do you add anything to them?
Sure.  I usually eat them as they come in the package, but will occasionally add chopped up food from the fridge to them.

2. Do you like spicy foods?
If it's not TOO spicy.  I am trying to appreciate sriracha right now.

3. Crispy or grilled chicken on your salad?
Do I look like a "grilled chicken" person?  Crispy, of course.

4. Do you like corn on the cob?
Love it -- the more butter the better.

5. Pumpkin or apple pie?

6. Dinner rolls or crescent rolls?
Hmmm....a toss-up. I think dinner rolls, if they are fresh and warm.

7. How do you like your eggs?
Most of my life I have preferred scrambled, but lately I've been rediscovering over easy

8. Most expensive meal you have ever eaten?
I don't know.  Probably a whole roasted crab at a restaurant in San Francisco.  We mortgaged the house, I think, but it was worth it.

9. Do you like stir fry?
Yes--and I make it occasionally. (I took lessons from Martin Yan)

10. What kind of pots and pans do you use?
I have a set of copper bottomed pans that were given to us as a wedding present that I still use every day.  Also a cast iron skillet and an expensive non-stick (but not really) frying pan

11. Do you like Brussel sprouts?
Yes, if cooked right--I'm still looking for the perfect recipe.

12. Canned or fresh tomatoes?
Oh fresh!  But only if they are home-grown and not the tasteless ones you get in the supermarket these days.

13. BBQ Chicken or Ribs?
I rarely get (or cook) ribs but I like them.  I also like BBQ chicken.

14. Do you like coffee?
Yes.  Peet's French Roast.  We've been drinking it ever since Peet's began in Berkeley in 1966.

15. Cupcakes or ice cream cake?
Ice cream cake.  I'm not a big cupcake eater.

16. Hot dogs or polish sausage?
Hot dogs, preferably with onions, mustard and a ball game in front of it.

17. Do you like cinnamon toast?
Yes.  I love it.

18. Do you eat dinner at the table or in front of the TV?
Yes.  We eat at the table.  The table faces the TV.  The TV is usually on.

19. Do you like to BBQ?
No.  It is a skill I have never mastered.

20. Do you like cold cuts?
Some.  Not, for example, baloney

21. Do you like rice?
Yes, but I prefer potatoes.  Walt prefers rice, so we eat more rice than potatoes.

22. Macaroni and cheese?
Yes.  I like my home made kind, but every year on David's death anniversary we have Kraft dinner because it was his favorite.

23. Key Lime Pie?
Not particularly.  I don't HATE it, but I'd prefer lemon meringue.

24. Favorite Fair/Carnival Food?
I haven't been to a fair/carnival in decades. I'd like to try some of the new fried things like Snickers.  And I'd love to taste "real" cotton candy again.

25. What kind of gravy do you like?
I'm not a gravy person, but the sausage gravy I had in Ohio a few years back was delicious.

26. Jalapeno Poppers?
Yes, indeedy.  I can make a meal of them--so don't buy them.

27. Broccoli/Chicken Alfredo?
Alfredo anything is yummy.  Never had broccoli alfredo, though.

28. Do you like cottage cheese?
Yes.  Preferably with strawberries and/or bananas.

29. Do you like lasagna?
Love it!  I remember when my mother found this "new" recipe and cooked it for the first time.  We all thought it was very exotic!  Best lasagna I ever had, though, was pesto lasagna in Portofino, Italy on our France/Italy trip.  Fabulous.

30. Do you like hard boiled eggs?
Hard boiled, soft boiled, stuffed.  I like them all.

Soccer season is starting!

I'd love it if you'd leave a comment!

Apparently someone decided I should approve comments before they appear -- it wasn't me! --
so if you don't see your comment, it's because it's awaiting approval.  Sorry 'bout that!
