Who IS this Gilbert person anyway?

Saturday 9: Sweet City Woman
Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.
1) The lyrics tell us the singer is on his way to catch a train and he really wants to be on time. When is the last time you were late for something?
I am usually obsessively on time so I can't
remember the last time I was late. sometimes I'm on time when I'm
expected to be late and that can get embarrassing.
Snickerdoodle, though I don't like the ones
I've tried to make, so my favorite thing to make, cookie-wise, that actually
turns out well, is shortbread.
It's the middle of the day, so actually none,
except the lights over my craft table, which are almost always on.
FWIW, I love a banjo too, though I would not say it's necssarily sound that makes me smile. I love the sound of waves crashing on the shore, a baby laughing or a big pipe organ in a cavernous religious place.
5) 47 years after their record was a hit, The Stampeders still tour every summer, playing festivals across the US and their native Canada. Do you enjoy live music under the stars? Or would you prefer to be seated in a theater?
I can't sit on the ground any more (and
definitely can't get up if I do), so I go for a theater.
Monk. Or Columbo.
It was about 2 weeks ago and I was mailing
off two swap bot packages. I hear the P.O. wants to raise stamp prices
to 55 cents because they are losing money. Never could figure out how
charging more is going to want to make people buy more, especially in this
day of email and text messaging.
Not sure. I used to be able to find my
smallpox vaccination scar on my upper arm,but don't remember which one and
don't see it now.
