26.) Favorite kid's name?

I wanted to name a daughter Laurie Pauline, but never did.  We had other reasons for naming our first what we did and I figured there was always time for Laurie Pauline later  Four boys later, I gave up!  I did like our boys' names -- Ned, Paul, Tom, and David.  Nothing fancy, but solid names.

27.) Do you speak any other languages?

I was a French major in college and still can stumble along in basic French -- and I DO mean "stumble."  I also learned Portuguese by osmosis from having so many Brasilians living in our house over the years.  I am very, very weak in Portuguese but can still understand some things.

28.) Do you use Twitter?

I would love to make efficient use of Twitter, but after many attempts I have to admit that I really do not enjoy it.

29.) Do you go onto YouTube?

Yep.  I have posted hundreds of videos there in the past eleven years, but rarely post now.  However, son Ned makes great videos.

30.) Do you play Angry Birds?

No.  I have tried and am terrible at it.

31.) Do you like Angry Birds?

No.  It makes me very angry.

32.) Do you like Hello Kitty?

I don't like or dislike.  The figure is cute, but I'm not necessarily a fan.  I buy Hello Kitty stuff for SwapBot partners and for my granddaughters.

33.) Have you ever cried because you were so happy?

Oh many times!

34.) Who would you like to see in concert?

I don't think about concerts, but I hear Celine Dion has (or had?) a good show in Vegas. We've seen Neil Diamond twice because we have a friend who worked on the crew (fun to take a backstage tour after the concert).  That was fun and I wouldn't mind seeing him again, though our friend no longer works for him

35.) Can you swim well?

I can swim.  "Well" is a different thing.

36.) Ever won a contest?

When I was in high school, I won 5th prize in an essay contest, a one way cruise from San Francisco to Los Angeles.  My mother, sister and I went to Disneyland, which had just opened, and had our first airplane ride going home.  I never took any pride whatsoever in the win, though, because the essay was to be about the Merchant Marine, about which I knew nothing, and the nun who was helping me work on it practically dictated it to me.  I still know nothing about the Merchant Marine (but I enjoyed the trip).  I also won a local theatre prize, an Elly, for original best musical.  It's nice having an Elly, but my contribution to the script was so small, I have no pride in that one either.

37.) Ever won a giveaway?

I can't think of one.

38.) Do you get a full 8 hours of sleep every night?

It has been so long since I had a full 8 hours of sleep at night, I can't remember when it last was.  My nights are broken into segments and when I get up in the morning and realize that added together I got 6 hours of sleep, that was a good night of sleep for me.  I also get in one or two naps during the day.

39.) What tea do you like?

I'm not a big tea drinker, but if I go to a tea shop I usually order Earl Grey.  I had a fabulous apple tea in a turkish rug store in Istanbul, while we got a sales pitch.  I bought some tea to bring back with us (it was cheaper than a rug) but the tea wasn't quite as good when there was no mosque to look at at home.

40.) What coffee do you like?

Peet's French roast.  We've been brewing it since Alfred Peet opened his first shop in Berkeley in the 1970s.

41.) Do you shop at Walmart?

I never set foot in the place.

42.) Do you shop at Target?

43.) What do you order at Second Cup?

What's "Second Cup"? [Later:  found out it is a coffee chain in Canada; I don't believe I've seen one in this country]

45.) Do you like homemade meals?

Sure.  I like the meals I prepare.  I like it better when someone else does the cooking.

46.) Do you like homemade baked goods?

Yes.  As good as store-bought is, somehow they are never quite as good as something fresh from your own oven.

47.) Do you shop online?

Too often.

48.) Name 3 stores online stores you would like to shop at:

49.) What holiday don't you like?

I have never really liked Halloween.  I make crappy costumes and I always hated having to decide how much candy the kids could have at any one sitting.  Once the kids could tell that I had stolen a lot of the "good candy" the fun was gone.

50.) What do you eat more of when you're sick?

Depends on what I'm sick with, but anything respiratory requires lots and lots of citrus (o.j. and fresh oranges)

Time for a cute dog picture
