Get It All Down
Do you need to write down things to remember them?
Yes. Everything goes on my desk calendar. I review so many shows
(sometimes 3 a week) I would never remember them if I didn't have them
written down on a calendar.
Do you keep a diary/journal?
Uh...duhhh. Yes. Have you read "Funny the World" ??
Are you scared of thunderstorms?
We don't live in an area where thunderstorms are disastrous so I have always
found them exciting.
Do you have any unusual fears or phobias?
Big trucks on the freeway. I'm always nervous when there is a big semi
on the right side of our car (which is why I usually drive in the right hand
lane!). I'm convinced I will die when a truck tips over and falls on
our car.
What's your favorite Disney movie?
Bambi
Have you ever painted a house?
No.
What's the tallest tree you've ever climbed?
I haven't climbed a tree since I was a kid, but I used to climb into an old
(oak?) tree at my grandmother's, eat green apples and talk about life with
my cousin.
Do you always wear identical socks?
Always in public, not necessarily always at home, since I have so many where
I have only one of a pair of sox.
Do you live by any motto or philosophy?
"Never go to the foot when the head can be had."
Do you lick the yogurt or dessert lid?
Sure. Doesn't everyone?
Do you lick the spoon clean after making something sweet?
Oh yeah. One of the perks of being the cook.
Have you ever played the bongos?
No.
Have you ever handled a snake?
Once. I was determined to get over a fear of snakes. It peed on
me.
Have you ever assembled furniture by yourself?
I tried. Fortunately I am married to a guy who reads instructions
better than I do.
When did you last go to the beach?
We picnic on the beach in Santa Barbara each July, for Tom's birthday, so
last July (don't know what the beach is like now, with the recent oil spill,
though.)
When, if ever, did you last go to London?
We arrived at Heathrow on 9/11/2001 and spent the next two days in our hotel
room glued to the television.
What do you do to cool down when its hot?
Drink cold water and sit in front of a fan.
What's the most unusual thing you've ever eaten?
Durian, the "king of fruits" in southeast Asia. It was awful.
Do you have a favorite mug?
I drink my coffee out of a stainless steel mug I bought at Peet's.
Do you know any self-defense or martial arts?
Nope.
Who's your favorite movie action hero?
Action is not my favorite genre, so I don't know a lot of action heroes, but
Harrison Ford was a pretty good badass president in Airforce One.
Have you ever ridden a motorcycle?
Once, in high school on the back of a motorcycle driven by a friend of my
cousin's then-boyfriend. My father was furious when he found out. I never did it
again.
Do you collect anything?
Books by Albert Payson Terhune. Magnets from our travels (though I am
running out of surfaces on which to put them)
Is there anything you wished would come back into fashion?
Kindness, courtesy, and face to face conversations.
Do you stick to conventional fashions or like to try and be original?
I wouldn't know "conventional fashion" if it hit me over the head.
Have you ever given someone a handmade present?
One Christmas when our kids were still in school I made quilts for each of
them. I don't think I have made any sort of home made gift since then.
If you could have any feature from an animal what would
you want?
The keen eyesight of an eagle and the hearing of my dog!
