BUSY? WHO, ME?
23 July 2002
It's definitely been "one of those days." Not necessarily in a bad way, but
in that hamster-in-the-wheel sort of way.
The morning wasn't too bad, though the night had been weird. Again, I fell asleep too
early so was wide awake at 2 a.m., realizing that I had finished none of the typing I had
intended to do at night. So I worked for an hour or so, then went back to sleep for a bit.
Walt was flying to Arkansas at the crack of dawn, so we had to leave here at 5:30 to
get to the airport.
When I returned home, I was determined to finish all of Dr. G's work, which went
in interminably. The only thing that was nagging away at the back of my head was that I
didn't know where I had put this sheet of paper he'd given me with some information on it
last week. It was addresses of letters he wanted me to send, but I also had a huge book of
names and addresses, and sorta remembered that the names were duplicated in the book, so I
didn't worry about it too much.
We had a full day of patients scheduled, so I grabbed a quick bite to eat at 11:30 and
got to the office by 12.
Actually, it wasn't too bad. Two of the patients were no-shows and one cancelled, so my
participation wasn't too harried and I had time to get some bookkeeping done. At the end
of the day, I made sure all the patients for tomorrow had been contacted and reminded that
they have appointments .
I left the office "early" (6:30) and the "easy" part of my day was
over.
It's Monday night, so it's time to review another show. No time for dinner, so I just
reached in the fridge and grabbed--yogurt, tomatoes, a scrambled egg, and a Power Bar. I guess
that was a more or less balanced meal.
The show was Unsinkable Molly Brown this time. Not one of my favorites, but
saved by two terrific leading actors.
The show ended at 10:45 and now I have to write the review and find that damn piece of
paper I couldn't find yesterday--because it has some VERY important information on it and
Dr. G is expecting me to bring it in tomorrow (I told him I had "forgotten" to
bring it in today).
I've also mislaid his wife's resume, which I'm supposed to be typing--and, apparently,
a tape that he dictated a week ago, which seems to be nowhere around here.
I'm not sure if I'm going to get any sleep tonight or not. (Naturally, the very first
thing I did was to write a journal entry, did you notice?)
